What we have got is a longstanding policy based around the principles of human rights that people with disabilities have the same rights as anyone else in the community and are entitled to be assisted to exercise those rights. Our 'Disability Services, Personal Relationship and Sexuality Guidelines' developed in 2001, include a section 'Access to a sex worker'. We have organised trips to Hobart Brothels.

The Scottish Daily Record printed the following:-

A PRISON where inmates get free sex has a "waiting list" of criminals asking to be transferred there.

Angry warders caused an outcry when they revealed the free trips to brothels at taxpayers' expense.

One jailer at Belgium's Paifve Prison said: "We take them in buses to the red-light area in Liege and let them loose so they can get on with it while we wait for them in a cafe.

"The prison even gives them Viagra so they can perform. Afterwards they feel great. They can't wait until their next visit.

"But I'm scared I might bump into someone I know while I hang about in the red-light area. Paedophiles and rapists are among those getting permission to visit these brothels.

"We don't understand it. The whole world has gone crazy."

But pr is on governor Jacqueline Vaneetveld defended the sex visits.

She said: "Going to brothels teaches these men to respect women and control their sexual desires. It is part of our reintegration programme."
