Day of Sexual Discussion for people with
Spinal Injury & Spina Bifida
18 September 2009
Inner Nature was launched on 7th October 2009.
The idea came from spinal injured Outsiders member, Shah Rashid who finds that he learns more about sex from his spinal injured friends than he was ever taught during rehabilitation.
We invited people with spinal injuries and spina bifida to attend the day in Tiverton, and provided talks, demonstrations, networking opportunities and lunch. The day was run by sex therapist Tuppy Owens, Occupational Therapist Katie Wiltshier, and Tantric practitioners Sue Newsome and Katie Sarra. Sue Newsome provided an introduction to tantra, explaining how its teaching guides people to sexual pleasure that is not genitally focused or goal orientated. Spokz came along to describe their new website providing sex toys for disabled people.
More Inner Nature days are planned for 2010. Details will be on the SHADA website www.shada.org.uk.
