| An important factor I think..my boys have told me of great and not so great past exps with some people, and I really think that as some of you may be very nervous and hesitant in some areas, you may feel a wee bit more comfortable here, to say how you feel. This is the place you can tell us, anon? It may help all of us on both sides too? |

R, do you know what I was thinking...that all these secret readers already have a secret forum that they post on, and not telling me.
There's a whole forum here waiting to be filled up and be such a great source of info in a specialised area, this could be great.
We have stuff in common already, we are judged as 'different' it would be great to have a banter, see what gives. It is only chatting, I am sure the site intention is that people feel safe too. |

Perhaps it is just that deciding to visit a sex worker is hard enough without writing about it. The sex industry does not have a uniformly wholesome image.
Yet people want help and advice and to feel safe. The sex workers section is reassuring,so people do visit,look and leave. There may not be many posters,but they keep things interesting.
Me. Having had large bits of my insides removed I was interested to see a profile which mentioned the word colostomy. But then Dolly is a source of inspiration to us all. Ought to be somewhere in the school curriculum. |

| Just as a follow up. It may be a big step for some people to pick up the phone and call a sex worker. You are likely to find somebody quite normal and sympathetic on the other end especially if you use this site. |

What I meant was just the chatting here, leave the other stuff for braver times eh? Or even...not at all.
No one is ever obliged to be calling me/anyone at all, and that is not the reason I ever came here, hell no!
I am merely a bystander, but I am too seen as 'different' and 'unacceptable' to the mainstream world.
We have many facets, we just happened to have met here.
I just saw a silent forum that could be such a good source for people with things in common, maybe similar feelings and lifestyle exp of 'judgements' etc?
Making new friends is a good thing, no one can say..oh I have too many friends..?
So my main concern here is to get a good chat forum going with allsorts of relevant/irrelevant topics, it should just be fun and open and friendly, and make people feel welcome and accepted. |

I think I was responding to the heading,recommendations. I agree with you about the general chat.
Why are you a mere bystander? The stated purpose of this site involves connecting two groups and you are listed in one.
"Outsider"Many disabled people may be excluded from a full role in society,but disability is wide ranging. I do not necessarily see myself as an outsider, but as someone who has to deal with issues relating to my physical condition. Judging by your superb website you are almost mainstream-the acceptable face.....as distinct from the rude and crude.
Anyway enough carping, carry on Dolly! |

| We need to have recommendations/reviews-whatever. That is how people can benefit from the site. If I want to visit someone I get an idea what to expect. Of course more sex workers are needed on the site. |

I'm glad that someone has been elected from a social group that has never before been elected president (carefully avoiding the word 'black' - I hate that term - to me it feels just the same as calling someone by one of the other banned words! I think that 'brown' feels much more intuitive and more polite . . . . am I banned from the forum yet? !!).
I find it difficult following the political scene in America. If Obama is the best candidate for the job, then good on him. I hope he has people's support and he does a good job. If he was appointed because it was the politically expedient thing to do, well, that's not so good.
I feel that centralizing government makes the problems too large and often too far away so that they become unfixable (in my opinion). I remember that Jimmy Carter took post determined to act honestly and with integrity - look what it did to him - he aged visibly during his term of office. I hope that doesn't happen to Barack Obama.
He's inherited lots of difficult problems - let's hope that he can do a good job. |
